As you may or may not know about me, I’m obsessed with Halloween…and scary things in general. It started from a young age.

Horror movies were like a forbidden fruit — I loved every one I could get my eyes on, though my parents swore I shouldn’t be watching them.

I envied my best friend in elementary school whose birthday was in October because he got to have haunted house parties every year — one year I even had my birthday party two months early so it could be Halloween themed!

And in true Mean Girls fashion, while all the other girls were dressed as cute kittens and mice (duh) at a 6th grade Halloween party, I chose to go as…wait for it…a swamp monster. I will dig up photos to share if I can find them.

This obsession has not lessened in adulthood. I still deck my small apartment out in creepy decor (can’t wait until I have a house to decorate) and create a “Spooktober” movie list to watch every Halloween. For the first time this year I extended this vibe into a playlist as well. These tunes range from mildly creepy to industrial to dark and synthy. Prepare to be a little scared.

Let me know what you think!

p.s. This photo was taken in New Mexico, which we try to visit at least once a year because it’s a pretty quick drive from Denver and we love the southwest SO MUCH! We’re heading back this weekend and can’t wait to share tons of Santa Fe tips with you all. Look out for them on our IG stories!
